Sharon is married to Dr. Benedict Gullo and they have five children and eight grandchildren. They have lived in Canandaigua for over 50 years and have been members of Rotary and recently Kiwanis. Sharon received a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing from Keuka College and a Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Nursing from The University of Buffalo and a Post-Master’s Degree in Pediatric Nurse Practitioner from the University of Rochester. Currently she is a Pediatric/Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner and has a small private practice in Canandaigua. She worked at the Canandaigua VA Hospital as their first Clinical Specialist (APRN) and was the Staff Development Coordinator for both Thompson Health and Strong Memorial Hospitals. She worked at Strong Memorial Hospital for more that 15 years and Hillside Children’s Center for 10 years and Canandaigua Lake Counseling for 7 years. Currently, she is one of the founding members of Generation Connection and is firmly committed to “changing the world, one child at a time”(Kiwanis Mission Statement). She has received the NAPNAP Leadership Award (2004), Keuka College Alumni Leadership Award (2008) and the Athena Leadership Award from the Chamber of Commerce(2013).
